Delivery signed for by ‘Rural’

Delivery signed for by ‘Rural’

There are certain areas of New Zealand that we define as ‘rural’ or ‘non-urban’, which means that they sit outside our regularly serviced areas (Business & Residential Delivery Zones) so we offer delivery to that area, but there is an additional 2 – 3 business days transit time compared to our regular service standard due to the lower density of deliveries.

What does ‘signed for by rural’ mean?

This means that your parcel has been handed over to the rural delivery agent for the final stages of the delivery. Due to the nature of deliveries to rural addresses, a signature cannot be collected at the point of delivery. Once your parcel has been signed for by ‘rural’, please allow an additional 2 – 3 business days for delivery.

What are Rural/Non-Urban areas?

New Zealand Couriers define rural/ non-urban areas as those that sit outside our regularly serviced areas (Business and residential Delivery Zones) and may differ from the rural classification of other courier and postal companies. Use the Address Checker Tool to check if your address is in a rural/non-urban area.

How long does it take for a parcel to arrive at a Rural/Non-Urban address?

Allow 4 -5 business days for a parcel bound to arrive in a rural/non-urban address. Due to the low density of deliveries in rural /non-urban areas, deliveries are done less frequently.

How to reduce waiting times for parcels sent to Rural/Non-Urban addresses?

You can have your parcel go to one of our Delivery Link Partners, located inside our regularly serviced areas. Simply contact your local Delivery Link Partner so they expect your parcel and then have it addressed to them. They will then hold on to it for you, and you can pick it up when it’s convenient for you.

Find your local Delivery Link Partner using our Nearest Location Tool.
